EMT Instructor - Central Wyoming College
Position Summary
Instructional faculty have the important responsibility of creating an innovative learning environment both inside and outside of the classroom to inspire success and excellence in student learning. Instructional faculty members are also expected to adhere to professional standards and ethics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach various EMT courses, programs, labs, etc. that align with state and national standards.
- Provide an outcomes-based and interdisciplinary-focused curriculum that includes lectures, hands-on skills instruction, and scenario-based
- Instructional competency, including knowledge of Emergency Medical Services at the Emergency Medical Technician level, as well as an ability to evaluate student
- Be student-focused.
- Work with CWC’s Admission Department to recruit
- Participate in community outreach efforts as
- Use innovative pedagogies and emerging technology to enhance
- Promote a collaborative learning environment that extends beyond the traditional classroom.
- Assist students with certificate and degree planning and conduct regularly scheduled advisement sessions to discuss progress toward achieving learning
- Assist in department and program budget development and
- Participate in annual and four-year academic program review(s), including assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institutional
- Revise curriculum offerings as
- Work with CWC BOCHES and high school teachers to offer concurrent and/or dual credit courses within the CWC service
- Participates in college and university articulation conferences as
- Attend department, division, and committee
- Participate in the semiannual CWC in-service.

Position Specifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- Current Wyoming or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, EMT, or Paramedic credential
- Experience
- 3-5 years of non-teaching full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in Emergency Medical Services as a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level
- Licenses/Certifications
- Certified EMT-Paramedic or Advanced EMT certification
- Approved as an Initial Course Coordinator by the Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services, or meets qualifications to obtain
- Equivalency Statement
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services, Education, or related field
- Certification as an Advanced EMT or Paramedic Level I or II Instructor
- Two years of teaching a closely related field at the community college level
- Experience coordinating professional emergency medical services training programs

Little Snake River EMS - All Providers 12-30-2024
Little Snake River Emergency Medical Service is currently hiring full-time EMTs for all levels including Basic EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic. Part time and Per Diem positions are available.
We are located in Baggs, WY, a rural community on the Wyoming/Colorado border. We service the communities along the Little Snake River including Baggs, Dixon, and Savery, WY along with Slater, CO with Craig, CO and Rawlins, WY being the nearest hospitals. Baggs is located 20 miles from the National Forest for outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, horseback riding and much more.
Our full-time employees work 7 days on (24 hours a day) and 7 days off. We are offering a $2,500.00 hiring bonus for advanced skill sets hired in the full-time position and paid out equally at 60, 90, and 180 days. We offer 7 vacation days a year accrued per our employee handbook and we allow you to bank up to 14 vacations days. We offer a stipend for Health Insurance. Salary depends on level and experience.
Summary of Job:
Working knowledge of EMT scope, skills, ability to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, public, peers and supervisory personnel. Ability to provide high quality, compassionate patient care for 911 calls and ground transports. Ability to communicate ideas, explanations, and recommendations clearly, both orally and in writing. Writing and spelling skills appropriate for completion of patient care reports and other required forms. Perform other duties and functions assigned by Little Snake River EMS Leadership team.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an EMT Program.
- Current Wyoming State EMT certification or NREMT Certification with ability to obtain Wyoming Certification by start date.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
- Driver’s motor vehicle record must meet requirements set forth in Employee Handbook and insurability of auto insurance provider.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Current or must obtain within 6 months American Heart Association, NAEMT EPC, or Handtevy Pediatric Certification.
- Current or must obtain within 6 months NAEMT PHTLS or ITLS Certification.
- Current or must obtain within 1-year NAEMT AMLS.
- Ability to pass a LSR EMS approved physical agility test.
- Competency with Microsoft products, WATRS, and other windows and web-based application.
- Works well under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Essential Job Functions:
Sustained physical effort, standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job and have the ability to lift without assistance a minimum of 100 pounds.
- Lift and carry medical equipment as necessary to deliver emergency care to patients.
- Lift and carry ill and/or injured patients as well as pushing and pulling of stretcher.
- Climbing stairs or terrain in order to access patients, and to remove them from location found.
