Position Overview
The EMS Chief is responsible for overseeing the emergency medical services operations within Uinta County Fire and Ambulance. This leadership role requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in emergency response, management, and community engagement. The EMS Chief will ensure high-quality patient care, compliance with all regulations, and the development of an efficient and effective EMS team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
– Lead and supervise all EMS personnel, ensuring effective team dynamics and fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.
– Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for EMS operations in accordance with state and federal regulations.
2. Operational Oversight:
– Coordinate day-to-day operations of EMS, including response, transport, and patient care.
– Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal service delivery.
– Monitor and evaluate response times, patient outcomes, and service efficiency.
3. Training and Development:
– Oversee the training and continuing education of EMS personnel to maintain high standards of care and skills.
– Develop and implement protocols and training programs that reflect best practices in emergency medical services.
4. Financial Management:
– Assist in the budget preparation and management for the EMS division, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource allocation.
– Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing and application processes.
5. Community Engagement:
– Serve as a liaison between Uinta County Fire and Ambulance and community stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and partnerships.
– Represent the EMS division at community events, public meetings, and professional organizations.
6. Quality Assurance and Improvement:
– Establish metrics and benchmarks for monitoring and evaluating EMS performance.
– Conduct regular reviews of incidents, patient care reports, and other data to improve services.
7. Regulatory Compliance
– Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding emergency medical services.
– Stay informed about changing legislation and best practices in the field.
8. Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency medical services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
– Current certification as a Paramedic or IEMT at the state level.
– Strong knowledge of EMS protocols, regulations, and best practices.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
– Firefighting Experience Preferred.
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
– The position requires irregular hours, on-call duties, and exposure to emergency situations.

Adjunct Instructor, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Laramie County Community College is dedicated to student success and aspires to develop world-class community college faculty. The College’s instructional faculty positions have the primary responsibilities of teaching assigned courses, being available for students, and collaborating on departmental objectives when applicable. In addition, all faculty work in alignment with the College’s mission, vision, and values to continuously improve as professional educators and experts in their field. Faculty further serve the College in collaborative and collegial relationships across the institution. LCCC supports adjunct faculty by providing an environment conducive to excellent teaching and learning, classroom equipment and supplies, and resources to meet the challenges that arise in the course of teaching.
Prudent utilization of LCCC’s resources is a prime responsibility of LCCC’s administration. Therefore, the college reserves the right to change course assignments if needed. Full-time faculty members with less than a full load may be assigned to teach a course that was originally assigned to an adjunct instructor. All changes in teaching assignments will be made prior to the first class meeting. The position of Adjunct Instructor is part-time, non-benefitted, and employed on a course-by-course basis and/or hourly basis without any obligation or promise of continued future employment and is provided competitive compensation.
LCCC provides several resources to its adjunct faculty. Support systems are in place to assist all faculty in supporting student success through excellent instruction. These supports are outlined in detail in the LCCC Faculty Handbook, which serves as a vital and current reference to policies and procedures that impact expectations of all faculty of the College. All LCCC faculty are supported by the Faculty Academy within the Center for Excellence in Teaching.
Adjunct faculty must notify the dean of the school in which they teach if they are employed in another position at LCCC.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.
Compensation: $21.56 – $23.76 /hr. dependent upon years of directly related experience.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: – this position is Exempt, i.e., is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned).
Faculty employ effective teaching practices coupled with the development and use of appropriate educational materials, delivery strategies, and effective assessment practices. Responsibilities associated with this function include:
Teaching:
- Teach assigned classes as per course plan and schedule (primarily evening and weekends) and meet required contact hours, unless permission to deviate has been approved by appropriate supervisor to accommodate student need.
- Teach classes according to the approved Master Course Outline of Record (MCOR) and provide a current course plan for each course taught to the appropriate supervisor and faculty member.
- Conduct a fair evaluation of students’ performance applied equally to all.
Curriculum Development:
- Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies.
- Develop and maintain instructional materials to support course and program competencies as outlined on the Master Course Outline of Record (MCOR).
Instructional Delivery:
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
- Incorporate current subject matter expertise into instruction.
- Utilize varied learning activities to maximize student engagement and success.
- Employ relevant teaching tools, strategies, and classroom technologies.
- Prepare and maintain classroom and/or lab facilities.
Assessment of Student Learning and Continuous Improvement:
- Support student learning with timely and on-going feedback on progress and provide assistance towards meeting the course competencies.
- Comply with College procedures, practices, and deadlines related to instructional delivery, formative and summative assessment, and reporting requirements to include records management, redlining activities, grade submission, equipment management (as applicable), etc.
Communication:
- Utilize LCCC email accounts (email application and learning management system email) to communicate with students, colleagues, supervisor, and/or supervisor’s designee.
- Communicate with and respond to students in a timely manner (in most instances this means 1-2 work days).
- Be available either through email, phone, or in person to assist students who have questions regarding the class or materials.
- Submit approved syllabus to appropriate dean’s office.
- Maintain current contact information with the school office.
- Share appropriate notices with students (e.g., announcements, student activities, upcoming events, etc.).
- Adhere to regulations established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Training:
- Maintain current subject matter expertise and expand knowledge through professional development.
- Comply with the minimum faculty qualifications and credentials, and, if applicable, maintain required certification or licensure per Academic Affairs Procedure 2.7P (Minimum Faculty Qualifications Procedure).
- Engage in professional development activities as directed by the supervisor.
- Complete orientation and mandatory training required of all employees.
Applicable Assignment Information:
- Typically, an adjunct assignment is paid on a on a course-by-course basis and/or hourly basis with the payments representing a pro-rated monthly amount of the calculated total based on the start and end date of the assignment(s) as specified.
- Adjunct assignments are forecast based on anticipated need; if enrollments do not fulfill anticipated targets, or for any other reason LCCC deems applicable, the adjunct assignment(s) may be canceled at any time prior to the specified time period.
- Any and all adjunct assignment(s) are subject to, and administered under, applicable LCCC Policy and Procedure. By accepting an adjunct assignment, an individual acknowledges, agrees to abide by, and understands that they are subject to LCCC Policy and Procedure as may be applicable.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- The essential functions of this position require the ability to work in a medical setting with potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens; Personal Protective Equipment and safety procedures must be utilized as required
- Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of a paramedic.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to maintain appropriate composure and necessary confidentiality with regard to both past and current employee, student, and donor data; documents; issues; etc., and respect privacy needs of employees, students, donors
- The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required
- While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required including long work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions. Lifts exceeding 50 pounds require team lift technique.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds
- Able to manipulate instruments, supplies, and equipment with speed, dexterity, and exceptional hand-eye coordination

- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Emergency Services or related field

1. Oversees the daily operations of the Department of Ambulance/Paramedic Services. 2. Develops and manages operational and capital budgets. Develops, implements, coordinates, monitors, evaluates and integrates ambulance services that contribute to the overall success and financial viability of ambulance/paramedic services. Uses creativity in the delivery of services and products in a highly competitive market.
3. Provides appropriate representation at meetings and on hospital committees. Serves as a professional resource for staff and administration. Collaborates with Medical Staff and Clinical Staff regarding ambulance/paramedic programs and services.
4. Continually evaluates performance relative to need for improvement of processes to assure safe and appropriate delivery of services. Plans, supports and leads Quality Improvement efforts for relevant ambulance/paramedic services.
5. Manages staff resources by overseeing the recruiting, selecting, hiring and orienting qualified individuals. Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective and timely manner. Develops core position hiring strategies and ensures opportunities for professional development. Creates a cohesive team committed to providing quality service to all customers.
6. Develops and monitors applicable policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agency standards.
7. This position reports directly to the designated Administrative position within the facility and is accountable for an effective departmental operation within budgetary constraints through the monitoring, projecting and controlling expenses, and through the promotion of rational, cost-effective utilization of ambulance/paramedic services. Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members for the purpose of improving patient care and ensuring effective communication systems. External customers may include local, state, and national organizations, Joint Commission, colleagues and peers.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Health Care Administration or equivalent. Five or more years of leadership experience is required.
EMT-A Certification as required by state regulations. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, and NRP certifications. Ambulance Attendance licensure as required by state regulations. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices. Basic knowledge of budgeting principles and practices. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Skilled in reading, writing and comprehending English. Skilled in comprehending and following written and verbal instructions. Skilled in remaining calm in emergency situations. - Wyoming Office of EMS issued paramedic license; National Registry preferred.
- Maintains paramedic license and knowledge of professional standards related to protocols, clinical practice, skill proficiency, staffing, and continuing education.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides pre-hospital evaluation, treatment and transportation of sick and/or injured victims of all age groups. Operates in emergent, non-emergent and/or transfer situations at an Advance Life Support level, if necessary, until arrival at a definite care facility.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides pre-hospital and interfacility medical care for pediatric through geriatric populations, which includes assessing patient condition, rendering of appropriate care, utilizing appropriate invasive treatments, administering medications and interpreting EKGs.
2. Operates an assigned vehicle in emergent and non-emergent situations and in varying weather conditions, providing safe, reliable and timely transport to a designated point of service.
3. Performs general care and maintenance of vehicles. Performs daily vehicle inspections, completes and accurately inventories narcotics, and inspects medical equipment, supplies and medications assigned to the department.
4. Maintains complete and accurate patient care reports (PCRs), prepares and maintains logs and/or other applicable records during assigned shift.
5. Oversees daily shift operations and associates assigned to shift.
6. Demonstrates age specific competency for applicable patient populations.
7. Serves as a lead to EMTs. Interacts with all levels of clinical care team, patients, families, EMS agencies, physicians, vendors and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Depending on state of practice, Paramedic Certification and/or Licensure and maintenance thereafter. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS certifications upon hire.
Valid Driver’s License on date of hire and maintenance thereafter.
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Skilled in reading, writing and comprehending English. Skilled in comprehending and following written and verbal instructions. Skilled in remaining calm in emergency situations. Skilled in operating a variety of modern office equipment. Skilled in operating a variety of ambulatory tools and equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
NREMTP, NRP, EPC and/or EMS Instructor certifications preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
