Community Health Section

The Community Health Section optimizes the quality of life through promotion of health, protection of communities and prevention of disease and injury.  Units in the section 1) assess current health and identify what needs to be addressed to improve health; 2) ensure health is considered and included in policy development; and 3) assure changes are made to improve health.

This section coordinates preparedness and response for public health emergencies, coordinates efforts to improve the health of rural, medically underserved residents, and maintains and enhances the Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems across Wyoming.

Wyoming 2-1-1 is a statewide helpline which provides free, confidential information and referrals to health and human services. By dialing 2-1-1 from anywhere in the state of Wyoming, people are linked to information about COVID-19 as well as local resources, from both government and nonprofit agencies.
