Recovery [Expired one year or less]
An expired licensee can Recover their license if the license has been expired for less than or equal to one (1) year, the former licensee must be otherwise eligible for renewal under Chapter 16, Section 10 of the EMS Rules.

Reinstatement [Expired greater then one but less than four years]
If a license has been expired for more than one (1) year and less than or equal to four (4) years, the former licensee must:
- Complete a refresher course approved by the Division for the appropriate level of licensure;
- Complete cognitive and psychomotor exams
- Complete a fingerprint-based background check
- Be otherwise eligible for renewal under Chapter 16, Section 10 of the EMS Rules
