What is the Wyoming Adult Hearing Aid Program?
In March 2024, the Wyoming Legislature created the Adult Hearing Aid Program under Wyoming Statute § 35-25-601, et. seq., to assist residents aged 18 and older who have significant hearing loss and limited income in obtaining medically necessary hearing aids. The program is administered by the Wyoming Department of Health and is intended for individuals who do not have other coverage options, such as private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare.
Funding is available to support approximately 30 to 34 eligible applicants during the initial application year.
The first application period will open on August 1, 2025, and will close on September 30, 2025. Only complete applications received by mail or fax during this timeframe will be considered.
Determine Your Eligibility
Step 1: Do you have hearing loss?
If yes, continue to the next step.
If no, you are not eligible for this program.
To be eligible for this program, you must provide proof of hearing loss of 35 decibels (dB) or more in one ear, or at least 30dB in both ears. Proof of hearing loss must be provided through an audiogram completed by an audiologist or other qualified provider. The audiogram must be submitted using the program’s application form and must include test results for both ears.
Note: Audiogram testing is not included or paid for by this program.
Step 2: Are you currently employed?
If yes, you may qualify for hearing aid assistance through the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services – Vocational Rehabilitation.
Contact your local Vocational Rehab Field Office for more info
Only consider applying to the Adult Hearing Aid Program if you are not eligible for assistance through Vocational Rehab.

If yes, these programs typically cover hearing aids for all ages. You should speak with your Medicaid-enrolled doctor or audiologist before applying.

Step 5: Could you be eligible for Medicaid or CHIP (Kid Care CHIP)?
