American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Online Toolkits
The MCH Unit has purchased access to four AAP toolkits for Wyoming providers! The Bright Futures Toolkit, the ADHD Toolkit, Autism Toolkit, and Mental Health Toolkit can all be accessed for FREE online and supply valuable information, tools, and materials that can be used in provider visits and given out to families at the visit. 2021-2025 Child Health Program Priorities
Every five years, the Maternal and Child Health Unit is required to perform a statewide needs assessment to determine Wyoming’s health priorities for women, infants, and children including those with special health care needs. Current priorities for this domain are described below.
Promote Preventive and Quality Care in Children
During 2021-2025, the Child Health Program aims to increase the percentage of Wyoming children (1-9 years) who receive at least one well-visit based on Wyoming’s EPDST (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment) periodicity schedule, the American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures Guidelines.
Prevent Childhood obesity and Promote physical activity
During 2021-2025, The Child Health Program aims to Increase the percent of Wyoming children (6-11 years) who are physically active at least 60 minutes per day.
