On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the Wyoming Department of Health received a letter from Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), requesting that Wyoming develop and submit a comprehensive two-year provider revalidation strategy to mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse. All states received similar letters. Wyoming submitted a detailed implementation plan to CMS on June 5, 2026.
