New Provider Certification Application
Per Wyoming Statute and Wyoming Rules and Regulations, state certification is required of programs, providers, and facilities in Wyoming who wish to:
- Provide substance use disorder assessments for court-ordered or referred clients.
- Receive State of Wyoming funds for providing substance use disorder services.
- Provide Community Mental Health Center services.
New Application Guidance
In order to be certified by the Department, a provider shall submit a completed application, along with supporting documentation, to the online Behavioral Health Management System (BHMS). You have ninety (90) calendar days to submit a completed application, with supporting documentation, for certification.
If a provider is nationally accredited for the level of care services they are requesting certification for in a new application, they must adhere to the national accreditation standards throughout the term of certification.
Before starting your application:
- Review the Wyoming Rules and Regulations for Substance Abuse Standards found here.
- Review the guidance documentation below for requirements to submit a new application for certification.
Things to keep in mind
- Providers will have the opportunity to exit and re-enter the renewal application. The application will not need to be completed in one sitting.
- If a new application is incomplete or not submitted and remains inactive over ninety (90) calendar days from opening, it will be rejected.
- Upon receipt of a complete certification application, the Department has thirty (30) calendar days to approve or deny.
- The certification period begins upon receipt of certification application approval notification from the Department.
- If your application is approved, new providers shall be certified for a provisional six (6) month period. Thereafter, provider programs are reviewed. A successful and approved renewal application can be approved for no less than six (6) months and up to a three (3) year period. The provider will be notified at time of approval with a certificate and award letter, via email, which indicates the date of renewal.
