Welcome to the State of Wyoming’s Substance Use Disorder Services and Community Mental Health Center provider certification program!
Per Wyoming Rules, Regulations, and Statute, state certification is required of programs, providers, and facilities in Wyoming who wish to:
- Provide substance use disorder assessments for court-ordered or referred clients.
- Receive State of Wyoming funds for providing substance use disorder services.
- Provide Community Mental Health Center services.

Provider Certification
New Provider - State Certification Application
New Providers
If you are not currently state certified with the Behavioral Health Division and looking to provide substance use disorder assessments for court-ordered or referred clients, and/or receive State of Wyoming funds for providing substance use disorder treatment services, and/or provide substance use disorder treatment services as a Community Mental Health Center, you must complete a certification application and provide supporting documentation to satisfy requirements for review.

Current Providers - Certification Extension Request
Current State Certified Providers
Private Provider
If you are a private provider and expecting a certification renewal within ninety (90) calendar days and would like to request an extension on your current certification expiration date, please submit a written request to:
wdh-certification@wyo.gov
The request must indicate the reason for the extension request and the extension date being requested.
Nationally Accredited Provider
If you are a nationally accredited provider and expecting delays with your accrediting body in regards to your national accreditation expiration date, anticipated survey day, or subsequent reporting time frames, please submit a copy of the letter you received from your accrediting body which indicates the estimated date for the change in survey date. The letter can be sent by email to: wdh-certification@wyo.gov
Requests for extensions of certification are subject to Division review and are approved on a case-by-case basis.
Add a Level of Care Service to Current Certification
For current state certified providers wishing to Add a Level of Care Service(s) to an existing certification, you must:
- Complete the Add a Level of Care Service form
- Include a written request, in your email, for the requested service(s) addition
- Submit a copy of your updated Policy and Procedure document that supports the proposed Level of Care service(s) and/or special populations to be added
- Submit current licensure filed with the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board
- Email attachments to: wdh-certification@wyo.gov
If you are adding Impaired Driving Education Services, you must:
- Submit the certificate of completion for the state-approved curriculum for all providers that will be providing this service
- Submit current licensure filed with the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board

Providers and their programs must meet all applicable Wyoming Standards, per Chapter 2, Section 14, to provide Early Intervention and Secondary Prevention Education (adults) and ASAM Level 0.5 Early Interventions DUI/MIP Education (adolescents).
Please review Section 14 carefully to ensure full compliance with the Wyoming Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services Rules.

HealtheKnowledge is a free online learning and low-cost continuing education platform for health and behavioral health professionals.
Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network – ATTC
ATTC equips healthcare professionals and community organizations with effective tools to address individuals, children, and families impacted by alcohol and drug use. Funded by SAMHSA, ATTC offers virtual trainings, webinars, and events. Wyoming’s Regional Center can be found under the Mountain Plains ATTC.
CASAT Learning
CASAT Learning provides continuing education and professional development for behavioral health professions through the School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Reno. Courses are offered are online through live webinars, or in person.
