We’re the first high-behavioral facility in the country to implement the Green House model of care.
A truly unique opportunity for compassionate, patient-centered care, the Green House model prioritizes three primary elements: Real home, meaningful life and empowered staff. The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) follows the Green House model of care, which creates a unique opportunity for residents (elders) and staff (shahbazim) alike. WLRC empowers nursing staff by:
- Promoting the ability to self-manage their schedule and rotate daily duties
- Maintaining a non-hierarchical staffing structure
- Favoring more casual dress over traditional scrubs
Why we embrace the Green House model of care
Guided by the Green House model of care, we prioritize the core values of meaningful life, empowered staff and real home.
Rooted in a philosophy of person-directed, relationship-based care, our team members, known as shahbazim, focus on each resident’s (referred to as an “elder”) continued growth and development.
Elders are deeply known and valued by shahbazim for their creativity and resourcefulness.
WLRC’s shahbazim work to build a safe environment through respect, confidentiality while promoting independence and resident rights.
