When should you call a poison center?
You can call the poison center anytime someone may have been poisoned with chemicals, medicine, or household items. Call 911 if the person is unconscious or can’t be awakened, has collapsed, had a seizure, or has trouble breathing.
Almost half (47%) of human exposure cases are among children 1-5 years, and two-thirds (67%) of human exposure cases are among children 19 years and younger.
