The Preparedness and Response Unit is responsible for managing public health and medical emergency situations for the Wyoming Department of Health. The State Health Response Coordination Center (SHRCC) acts as a central point where leaders and teams can work together with local and tribal health departments and healthcare facilities. This teamwork helps make better decisions during public health emergencies. Our main goal is to improve how state, local, and tribal health systems prepare for and respond to emergencies, ensuring that the healthcare system can effectively save lives in critical times.
Public Health Preparedness and Response
The Public Health Preparedness and Response (PHPR) Unit strengthens preparedness and integrates federal, state, tribal, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and local public health responses to pandemics, natural disasters, terrorism, and other public health emergencies. Program activities are designed to develop emergency-ready public health departments.
