The Public Health Preparedness Team manages and conducts preparedness and continuity activities to support state, local, and tribal public health preparedness and emergency response programs. These activities inform decision-making during incident response to promote positive outcomes. During response, the Preparedness Team serves as the Planning Section in the State Health Resource Coordination Center.
Public Health Preparedness and Response
The Public Health Preparedness and Response (PHPR) Unit strengthens preparedness and integrates federal, state, tribal, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and local public health responses to pandemics, natural disasters, terrorism, and other public health emergencies. Program activities are designed to develop emergency-ready public health departments.
