Due to the impact and consequences of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Aging Division has purchased electronic tablets to support eligible participants. The aim of the program is to reduce social isolation in our older adult and caregiving population during this time and to increase uptake and access to telehealth and telemedicine services across all communities in Wyoming. Providers become caretakers for the iPads that are delivered to those older adults in need, and the company Teltex takes overall customer services and technical support needs the Older Adult has for three years, starting 2021, even allowing for daily calls if needed.
Providers only need to deliver the initial iPad, and then check in with their participant every 3 months to see that all is going well with the iPad. When they no longer want/need the iPad, the provider can reassign the iPad to a new Older Adult after working through some administrative pieces through CLS and Teltex, or return to the Aging Division so we can redistribute it to another provider. The provider only handles iPad data and check in’s 4 times a year unless a new participant is being sourced when the cycle will start again.
If you are interested in becoming an iPad program provider, please fill in this Google Forms with the name of the eligible participant. Please bear in mind that a detailed explanation is needed for the eligibility check, so spend some time on this before submission for timely processing.
