Public Health Preparedness and Response

The Public Health Preparedness and Response Unit (PHPR) is dedicated to supporting emergency-ready state, local, and tribal public health departments and healthcare facilities. It coordinates support by uniting community organizations, government agencies, and the private sector to effectively respond to local emergencies, including pandemics, natural disasters, and acts of terrorism.

Heather Tottingham, Response Manager

The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Response team procures and warehouses supplies and PPE for public health responses, including ventilators, N95s, nitrile gloves, testing supplies, and more. The Response team works with the Medical Countermeasures Coordinator to receive, store, and ship assets from the Strategic National Stockpile. During a public health emergency, the Response team serves as both the Logistics and Operations sections.
