Donation Sites are healthcare facilities within Wyoming that help with intake of donated drug items from the public; they work with the WMDP main location in Cheyenne to get donations to the main location for processing and utilization. Training and marketing materials will be provided to each Site that registers and WMDP offers conference calls with all Sites to address program changes and questions/concerns from any Site. Sites enroll to participate with WMDP on a volunteer basis and can withdrawal their participation at any time.
The WMDP receives funding from the Wyoming Legislature. Overall statistics of drug donations collected by Sites are reported to the legislature to support continued funding of the program. Sites are required to re-register each year and must be located within Wyoming to participate.
Who Can Join?
The Wyoming Drug Donation Program Act allows the following organizations within Wyoming to register as a Donation Site:
- Physician’s Office
- Pharmacy
- Hospital
- Health Care Facility
