Acceptable donations are re-dispensed to patients throughout Wyoming. All medication donations are sorted by the WMDP staff and inspected for viability by pharmacy personnel.
** We accept donations from all 50 states! **
We do not accept medical supplies for donation
Medical supplies includes bandages, gauze, ostomy supplies, medical tubing and equipment, syringes, diabetic lancets/test strips, feeding tube materials, etc. If you are unsure if your donation qualifies as a medical supply vs. medication, please give us a call or email prior to donating.

How to Donate
Step 1) Collect acceptable medication. Remove or mark out patient identifying information (name, address, phone number, and prescription number). Leave the drug name, expiration date, prescription date, quantity, and any other information visible on the container. Click here for printable instructions.
Step 2) Complete a Donor Form so that we can follow where our donations came from for reporting purposes. Please specify your location name if you are sending items from a registered donation site.
Step 3) If you live in Wyoming: Donate at your local Donation Site: text [county name] to (307) 370-2086 or see the map below. If you live out-of-state: mail the donation to our main address. If mailing the donation and you would like delivery confirmation, use a delivery confirmation method via USPS, UPS or FedEx. For the safety of the WMDP staff, the box must not be larger than 18″ x 18″ x 18″ and must not be heavier than 25 pounds.
**The Wyoming Medication Donation Program does NOT provide tax receipts for individual donors.**
Why We Do Not Provide Donation Receipts...
The Wyoming Medication Donation Program is unable, and not responsible, for estimating the value of donations for tax deduction purposes, since only the donor’s costs are deductible. It is impossible for us to estimate the cost incurred by the donor vs. the cost paid by an insurance company, discount program, or other third-party payer often found in the pharmacy payment structure.

Disposal Options
- Drug Drop Box – In Wyoming, text [county name] to 307-370-2086 for locations. For out-of-state, you can use the DEA public disposal locations utility tool to find a drop-box in your area
- Local law enforcement office – any police station can accept forfeited prescription medications; some locations have drop-boxes in their lobbies but it does vary by jurisdiction
- DEA Take-Back Day – national drug take-back event sponsored by the DEA typically twice annually in April and October each year
- Wyoming Medication Donation Program – provides safe disposal via incineration
- At-home disposal – this is the least preferred option, but still advised above throwing in the trash or flushing down the toilet (neither of which are good for the environment)
