The Community Prevention Grant (CPG) is funded through multiple funding sources including State General Funds, Tobacco Settlement Funds, National State-Based Tobacco Control Programs Grant funds, Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant funds, and Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success (SPF PFS) funds. - State General Fund and Tobacco Settlement Funds – Wyoming specific funds appropriated by the legislature.
- National State-Based Tobacco Control Programs Grant – These federal funds are awarded to the Wyoming Department of Health Tobacco Prevention and Control Program through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant – This grant provides funding to plan, implement, and evaluate activities that prevent and treat substance abuse and promote public health. The Substance Abuse Prevention Program receives 20% of the SAPT Block Grant for primary prevention efforts by providing universal, selective, and indicated prevention activities and services for persons not identified as needing treatment.
- Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success (SPF PFS) – The purpose of this grant program is to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance abuse and its related problems while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at the community and state level. Wyoming has focused its efforts on underage alcohol use and youth marijuana.
