Responsibilities of Operations
The Operations Team focuses on four key areas:
- Performance Management and Quality Improvement
- Workforce Development and Training
- Accreditation Readiness and Coordination
- Health Equity
Operations plays an integral role in developing and advancing staff and organizational capabilities within the public health division. From coordinating key planning activities to supporting the state health assessment and improvement planning efforts, Operations ensures the division is well-equipped to carry out the 10 Essential Public Health Services. Our mission is to promote, protect and improve health in Wyoming.
State Health Assessment and Improvement Planning
The operations team works in partnership with a variety of stakeholders and community members to conduct state health assessment and improvement planning.
Performance Management & Quality Improvement
This team develops, maintains, and improves the division’s infrastructure and capabilities to carry out performance management and quality improvement. Operations support the division’s Performance Management and Quality Improvement Council (PMQIC) and support QI projects throughout the division.
Accreditation
This team is responsible for coordinating the division’s accreditation readiness efforts. The division is working toward becoming an accredited agency through the Public Health Accreditation Board. The mission of the voluntary national accreditation program is to improve and protect the health of the public by advancing and transforming the quality and performance of governmental public health.
As part of the division’s efforts to prepare for accreditation, operations has been working with partners on state health improvement and planning efforts.
Workforce Development and Training
The operations team supports the division’s workforce development efforts. Our workforce development workgroup works to equip and prepare staff to deliver the 10 essential public health services.
Health Equity
We believe that all people deserve the opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This team works across the division to advance and promote health equity in our programs and services. Operations support the division’s Health Equity Workgroup (HEW).
