About Peer Navigation for Opioid Use Disorders
Peer navigators play a crucial role in assisting individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Their primary objective is to empower individuals with OUD to overcome complex barriers to seeking care. Peer navigators provide personalized assistance, education, and guidance, helping individuals effectively navigate the healthcare system and access necessary services. Peer navigators should be individuals with lived experience who possess a deep understanding of local resources and hold a peer support certification.
