Based on the highest levels of need and associated consequences, Wyoming identifies alcohol as a priority area and will continue focusing efforts on reducing alcohol misuse/abuse.
The SAPP’s approach to prevention is to gather and use data to guide prevention decisions specific to community needs with three overarching goals in mind:
- Reduce alcohol misuse/abuse and associated harmful consequences
- Strengthen capacity across the state to address the problem of alcohol misuse/abuse
- Reduce the availability of, and access to, alcohol by persons under the age of 21
