Wyoming Department of Health Immunization Unit
More than ever people are traveling domestically and abroad for work, family, and pleasure. Staying healthy both during and after travel is important. This session will discuss why we should screen for travel plans on all patients and how to properly assess any immunization needs. We will also briefly discuss vaccines that are typically used for travel reasons, including routine immunizations such as meningococcal and hepatitis A & B. Specialty travel vaccines such as yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, cholera, and typhoid will also be discussed.
This session is valuable for anyone in a clinical setting who assesses and vaccinates patients, along with anyone with a personal interest in protecting themselves, their loved ones, or patients during travel.
