North Platte Valley Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented person to join our Emergency Room department. The ER Technician is responsible for the cleanliness of the Emergency Room and is able to help triage patients and assist with identifying the correct course of treatment. POSITION SUMMARY

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees the daily operations of the Department of Ambulance/Paramedic Services. Develops services, programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization’s overall strategic plan and initiatives and standard professional practices while ensuring continuous, accurate, timely and cost effective services.
2. Develops and manages operational and capital budgets. Develops, implements, coordinates, monitors, evaluates and integrates ambulance services that contribute to the overall success and financial viability of ambulance/paramedic services. Uses creativity in the delivery of services and products in a highly competitive market.
3. Provides appropriate representation at meetings and on hospital committees. Serves as a professional resource for staff and administration. Collaborates with Medical Staff and Clinical Staff regarding ambulance/paramedic programs and services.
4. Continually evaluates performance relative to need for improvement of processes to assure safe and appropriate delivery of services. Plans, supports and leads Quality Improvement efforts for relevant ambulance/paramedic services.
5. Manages staff resources by overseeing the recruiting, selecting, hiring and orienting qualified individuals. Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective and timely manner. Develops core position hiring strategies and ensures opportunities for professional development. Creates a cohesive team committed to providing quality service to all customers.
6. Develops and monitors applicable policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agency standards.
7. This position reports directly to the designated Administrative position within the facility and is accountable for an effective departmental operation within budgetary constraints through the monitoring, projecting and controlling expenses, and through the promotion of rational, cost-effective utilization of ambulance/paramedic services. Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members for the purpose of improving patient care and ensuring effective communication systems. External customers may include local, state, and national organizations, Joint Commission, colleagues and peers.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Health Care Administration or equivalent. Five or more years of leadership experience is required.
EMT-A Certification as required by state regulations. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, and NRP certifications. Ambulance Attendance licensure as required by state regulations. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

JOB SUMMARY
Works in conjunction with the EMS Medical Director and for the EMS Manager within guidelines of the EMT certification. The EMT assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other providers to ensure excellence in patient and family care during pre-hospital emergency care and during transportation to a medical facility. The EMT may also assist with medical treatment of patients in other departments of CCH under the direction of the MD and RN within their scope of practice as defined by the State of Wyoming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs medical and trauma patient assessments, establishes care priorities, and renders necessary and appropriate care within policy, protocol, and scope of practice.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other providers to ensure excellence in patient and family care during pre-hospital emergency care and during transportation to a medical facility.
- Works in coordination with EMS Shift Supervisor and/or Lead Medic to complete EMS staff duties and assignments.
- Accurately performs complete population specific patient assessments, establishes care priorities, and renders appropriate care.
- Accurately documents assessments and treatments of patients using the WATRS reporting system in accordance with Wyoming State statutes.
- Provides service excellence to all customers.
- Operates vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and departmental policies. Must meet the requirements of and maintain a driving record that allows for coverage by CCH’s vehicle insurance carrier.
- Assures that ambulances and station are maintained, clean stocked, and ready for service at all times. Performs routine and minor vehicle and station maintenance to ensure safe and proper function.
- When requested during surges in patient volumes, assist with medical treatment of patients in other departments of CCH under the direction of the MD and RN within their scope of practice as defined by the State of Wyoming.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and participates in cost containment and economical utilization of supplies and equipment.
- Contributes to CCH and EMS department operations through consistent involvement in duty shifts, special events, educational in-services, and committees.
- Participates as preceptor of students and new personnel as needed.
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships with inter- and intra-departmental personnel.
- Has thorough understanding of the Standards of Excellence handbook and always abides by its expectations.
- Completes all mandatory education programs within established deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides pre-hospital evaluation, treatment and transportation of sick and/or injured victims of all age groups. Operates in emergent, non-emergent and/or transfer situations at an Advance Life Support level, if necessary, until arrival at a definite care facility.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides pre-hospital and interfacility medical care for pediatric through geriatric populations, which includes assessing patient condition, rendering of appropriate care, utilizing appropriate invasive treatments, administering medications and interpreting EKGs.
2. Operates an assigned vehicle in emergent and non-emergent situations and in varying weather conditions, providing safe, reliable and timely transport to a designated point of service.
3. Performs general care and maintenance of vehicles. Performs daily vehicle inspections, completes and accurately inventories narcotics, and inspects medical equipment, supplies and medications assigned to the department.
4. Maintains complete and accurate patient care reports (PCRs), prepares and maintains logs and/or other applicable records during assigned shift.
5. Oversees daily shift operations and associates assigned to shift.
6. Demonstrates age specific competency for applicable patient populations.
7. Serves as a lead to EMTs. Interacts with all levels of clinical care team, patients, families, EMS agencies, physicians, vendors and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Depending on state of practice, Paramedic Certification and/or Licensure and maintenance thereafter. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS certifications upon hire.
Valid Driver’s License on date of hire and maintenance thereafter.
