Wyoming Activation of Volunteers in Emergencies - "WAVE"
The Wyoming Activation of Volunteers in Emergencies (WAVE) System is Wyoming’s Emergency System for Advanced Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP) System.
ESAR-VHP is a national network of state-based programs that allows volunteers to register prior to an event. This allows volunteer managers to verify identity, licenses, and credentials before an incident happens.
This system also allows registered medical and non-medical volunteers to accept or decline a request to respond, and streamlines the verification process so that once on-site, volunteers can work at their highest capacity. All volunteer information is strictly confidential and is only used to verify and notify volunteers.
Every volunteer will be assigned to a local volunteer group. This allows the volunteer the ability to received training and respond with an established volunteer group. Training may be required but is offered in various ways to allow volunteers the accessibility and convenience they need.
Volunteers that are not affiliated with a registered volunteer group will have to go through a lengthy registration process that will significantly hinder their opportunity to respond. We highly recommend registering to volunteer prior to any event.
