Q1: What is the Wyoming Colorectal Early Detection Program?
A1: The WCCEDP is the newest program added to the Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. Wyoming is one of only six programs such as this in the nation. The purpose of the WCCEDP is to increase screening for colon cancer and to decrease the number of Wyomingites who are diagnosed and die from colon cancer each year. The WCCEDP is a pilot program. This means that evaluation is being completed to see if this type of program works and whether we should sustain the program into the next budget year. In order to carry out the program there are eligibility requirements. Not everyone who applies will be eligible.
Q2: What type of colorectal cancer screening does the WCCEDP offer?
A2: The WCCEDP offers the colonoscopy. A list of WCCEDP-approved CPT codes (based on Wyoming Medicaid rates) will be the mechanism ultilized to determine reimbursement for colonoscopy services.
Q3: Who can apply for the WCCEDP?
A3: Anyone age 50 to 64 may complete an enrollement form. In order to enroll with the WCCEDP an interested applicant must; Fill out and sign a WCCEDP Enrollment Application, an Informed Consent and Release of Medical Information, and an Affidavit of Residence.
