Rules and Regulations

The Office of Healthcare Licensing and Surveys (OHLS) assures that all healthcare facilities which are required to be licensed meet the applicable state standards. The Office also performs Medicare/Medicaid Certification Surveys as required by the State of Wyoming contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services for certified providers.

End Stage Renal Dialysis Centers 

On April 15, 2008, a Final Rule, which establishes new conditions for coverage that dialysis facilities must satisfy to be certified under the Medicare program was published in the Federal Register. According to CMS, the Final Rule reflects advances in dialysis technology and standard care practices since the existing conditions for coverage were issued in 1976.  CMS has posted a Fact Sheet on the CMS website.

CMS also recently released a "Frequently Asked Questions" document as well as a crosswalk that compares the former conditions to the final revised conditions that were issued in the Final Rule.
