Substance Abuse Standards Revision, 2008

 

 

 

  

The Wyoming Department of Health Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services Division (MHSASD) is planning for the revision of the State’s substance abuse standards. 

Substance Abuse Standards     

  • Chapter 14: Rules and Regulations for State Funding and Certification of Drug Courts
  • Chapter 16: Rules and Regulations for Substance Abuse Standards  
  • Chapter 17: Rules and Regulations for Provision of Substance Abuse Services to the Criminal Justice Population

The rule revision process will be a collaboration between the MHSASD, the Wyoming Department of Corrections, Wyoming Drug Courts, the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies, the Attorney General’s Office, Wyoming treatment providers and other stakeholders in the state.

The revision process will be a timely endeavor that will involve Division, Committee, and Public input gathered and incorporated into the final draft of the proposed changes. The process in which this agenda will occur will be posted on the MHSASD website as indicated in the timeline. Please refer to each button below for the various documents to review.

As listed in the rule revision timeline, each drafted revision will be posted on the website for easy access and reference. MHSASD invites you to share your thoughts about any needed changes (modification, addition or deletion) that should be made to these standards. When providing specific feedback, please refer to the specific section and subsection in each Chapter. 

Please consider the following as you review the standards:

  • What terms need to be defined, better defined or redefined? (Please feel free to provide specific language.)
  • What services do you believe need more description with respect to length, location, methods used, who can offer or provide the service, who can utilize the services, etc.?
  • What recommended language should be included that is not included in the current standards?
  • What are your concerns with respect to the current or upcoming standards?
  • Other thoughts
