Wyoming's Title V Application

What is Title V and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Block Grant?

Title V of the Social Security Act of 1935 established the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services Block Grant.  It is designed to assist states in their efforts to improve the health of mothers and children.  In Wyoming, The Title V MCH Block Grant is administered through the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Unit, within the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).  It supports programs that help mothers give birth to healthy babies and promotes access to medical and dental care for children as they grow and develop.

Needs Assessment

Every 5 years, the MCH Unit is required to perform a statewide needs assessment to determine state health priorities for women, infants, and children in Wyoming. MCH has begun the Needs Assessment process to determine the priorities for 2013 thru 2020.
