Letters of Intent for
Older Americans Act Title III and Title VII Services
Notice is hereby given that the applications for the Older Americans Act Title III and Title VII Services for the Wyoming Department of Health, Aging Division will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. MDT, July 30, 2008 by the Department of Administration and Information, Purchasing Section, 122 West 25th Street, Herschler Building, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002.

Title III-B – Supportive Services, including Ombudsman and Elder Abuse services;
Title III-C – Nutrition Services
Subpart 1 – Congregate Nutrition Services and
Subpart 2 – Home Delivered Nutrition Services;
Title III-D – Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Programs;
Title III-E – National Family Caregiver Support Program;
Title VII – Ombudsman; and
Title VII – Elder Abuse.
These programs are authorized pursuant to W.S. 9-2-1204. The applications will cover the grant period of October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. Contracts for this 2 year project cycle will be issued on an annual basis (Federal FY 10/1 – 9/30) through September 2010, dependent and conditioned upon the federal budget authorization, as well as quality of care provided to clients by the grantee.
The goals of the Title III programs are to focus on enhancing the lives of older people and their caregivers, enabling many older individuals to remain in their homes and communities, thus preventing inappropriate or premature institutionalization.
The Title VII programs focus on carrying out vulnerable elder rights protection activities. Therefore, proposals shall outline activities and services the applicant will provide to successfully achieve these goals.
After reviewing the grant information, interested applicants shall submit a Letter of Intent signed by the Board Chairman or official authorized to sign for the applicant agency by June 3, 2008 to Department of Administration and Information, Purchasing Section, 122 West 25th Street, Herschler Building, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002. The Letter of Intent shall include, at a minimum, the type of funding source requested, the proposed types of services to be provided, the geographical area where services will be provided, and the anticipated number of clients. In addition, Letters of Intent for Title III-E programs shall also include the amount of funding the applicant is requesting. The grant application packets will be mailed after May 9, 2008, upon receipt of the Letter of Intent by the Department of Administration and Information Purchasing Section. Completed grant applications must be returned to Department of Administration and Information, Purchasing Section, 122 West 25th Street, Herschler Building, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002 no later than 2:00 p.m. MDT July 30, 2008.
